The idea for this EP sprang from a seemingly random event and a conversation with Jason Ringelstetter of The Tonic Room Recording & Mastering Studios in Boise ID. Jason and I realized that I had a trove of live tracks that were recorded at a downtown performance to raise money for a community organization. We took the live tracks and listened to them, and felt they were a significant document of a certain stage in the arc of my band. We also decided to augment them with a couple of carefully chosen studio tracks, thus bookending the release. The live tracks were taken to the aforementioned Tonic Room Studios and mixed and fiddled with, and we cut the new tracks.
